BEEHIVE is a platform for producing synchronous interactions among audience members at concerts and sporting events.   BEEHIVE uses proprietary networking technology so the platform can perform in areas with little to no existing network coverage, with minimal hardware support.

uNET is a new approach to producing safer, simpler computer networks. uNET is designed to support the projected explosive growth in the Internet of Things and new demands on the existing systems of networking.



Tom is a leader in disruption and strategic innovation in emerging network technologies. He has chaired and spoken at conferences and institutions world wide about disruption and strategic innovation and is an active member of Sydney University’s Digital Disruption Research Group. Previously Tom co-founded tomandandy, which he built into one of the largest music production companies in the world where he helped reshape the role of music and media by introducing a disruptive process that lowered  costs to a fraction of previous levels while improving creative quality. He holds MFA and PhD from Princeton University and Presidential MBA from Pepperdine University.


 At Umbilical Andy has overseen the ongoing development of patent-protected IP (US20130308621, US20130311581, US20130308051, US20130311566, US20140019520) in support of the Beehive networking platform, addressing fundamental issues of synchrony and connectivity in high density venues.   Andy has always pushed against the edges of software development. At Princeton University from ’81 to ’89 he contributed to the seminal computer music language “Cmix”. He holds a broad artificial intelligence patent US 6.051.770) “artificial composer”, based on his work with genetic algorithims in musical contexts.


Lori comes with an extensive background in executive leadership as the Director of Finance and IT, leading strategic programs at a number of multi-national corporations such as, Hewlett-Packard, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, United Launch Alliance, Sony and LPL Financial. Her areas of expertise are in designing and leading transformational programs in the electronics, aerospace & defense, and financial services industries. Lori's focus has been in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, while leading the associated due diligence and integrations. Lori leads organizations with the utmost trust and respect and sets impeccable ethical standards for herself and her teams. She received her undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Information Systems and Presidential Key Executive MBA from Pepperdine University.


Chris has had a long and distinguished career as a systems designer and technical visionary.   From his early, seminal work on jQuery, through several years of Drupal web programming which culminated in the development of his hyper-object-oriented DOH system, Chris has always manifested a profound insight into computational systems, cutting through Gordian knots of complexity with his keen sense of uncompromising design.  Currently he is overseeing the design and development of uNet, a revolutionary networking technology which features powerful semantic addressing and low level integrated security.


Terry provides software architecture and process leadership for Umbilical. After completing an undergraduate degree in Astrophysics from UCLA, he immediately embarked on a far reaching career in technology with some of the biggest companies in the US and Europe. Terry has over twenty years of experience in mission critical software for large institutions from Citibank to FedEx, he delivered one of the first embedded Windows NT deployments for Citibank and handled a multi-year modernization of the FedEx freight logistics software infrastructure.

He was also one of the pioneers in outsource leadership overseeing code teams of more than 100 engineers to deliver cutting-edge software using

the most modern technologies. At Umbilical, Terry drives a collaborative team of unique individuals who are realizing the disruptive ideas and technology that are changing the face of information.


Joe is among the leading thinkers and speakers on advanced and gigabit networking. He is co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of US Ignite whose objective is to create applications for next-generation gigabit networks where he inaugurated a new national public/private program focused on smart cities and the implementation of the Internet of Things. He has written and won over $2M in federal grants from NSF and NIST over the past 2 years to support organization's activities. Joe received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from Princeton University and lives in Washington, DC, where he serves as a volunteer and also is on the board of directors of Miriam’s Kitchen, a not-for-profit service organization serving the homeless population of the city.
